    Definition 1

    A family of single-stranded, non-segmented, positive-sense RNA viruses with a hexagonal/spherical capsid and no envelope. These viruses can be spread by the fecal-oral or respiratory route and infection typically leads to acute gastroenteritis. (NCI Thesaurus)
