Paśimotanāsana (Head to Knee)

The Attention

While learning the posture the attention follows the motion and the areas of the body not flexible yet. When the posture is mastered, direct your attention to mūlādhāra-cakra.

The Technique

• Lie down on your back and relax.
• Keep your hands along the body.
• Raise the hands along your head, stretch and in the same time inhale.
• Hold your breath for a moment.
• Bend forward and exhale. Your face touches the knees and the hands grasp the big toes.
• Hold the position.
• Return to the initial position laying down on your back while breathing in.
• Relax.
• Repeat once more.

Recommendations

• Try to master the āsana slowly. Do not force it.
• Do not bend the knees.
