    5-HT3 Receptor

    A protein complex that plays a role in neurotransmitter-gated ion transport. It is a pentamer that binds serotonin and is comprised of either five 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 3A subunits or a combination of four 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 3A molecules with one of the alternative subunits, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 3B, 3C, 3D or 3E.
