    Acidophil Stem Cell Pituitary Gland Adenoma

    An infrequent pituitary gland adenoma composed of cells showing immunoreactivity for prolactin and less often growth hormone. Electron microscopic studies reveal giant mitochondria, a finding not present in any other type of pituitary gland adenomas. (NCI Thesaurus)
