    Actinomadura madurae

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram positive bacteria assigned to the phylum Actinobacteria. This bacteria hydrolyzes esculin, is sensitive to bacitracin, reduces nitrates and utilizes succinate. A. madurae is commonly found in soil and may cause actinomycotic mycetoma infection in immunocompromised individuals. (NCI Thesaurus)
