    Actinomycin Antineoplastic Antibiotic

    A chromopeptide antineoplastic antibiotic isolated from the bacterial genus Streptomyces. Actinomycin antibiotics inhibit DNA replication and RNA and protein synthesis by various mechanisms such as intercalating into the minor groove of DNA and interfering with the function of topoisomerase II.
