    Acute Basophilic Leukemia

An acute myeloid leukemia in which the immature cells differentiate towards basophils. This is a rare leukemia. The observed cases have been associated with a poor prognosis. The term basophilic leukemia is used as a synonym for acute basophilic leukemia. Chronic basophilic leukemia is an inappropriate term vaguely connected to the term mast cell leukemia.
