    Adenylosuccinate Synthetase Inhibitor

    Any substance that inhibits adenylosuccinate synthetase, an enzyme involved in the de novo synthesis of adenosine. A reduction in adenosine interferes with DNA, RNA, and ATP biosynthesis and can cause cell cycle arrest. (NCI Thesaurus)
