    Allergy Shot

    The injection of an allergen extract intended to increase resistance, tolerance, or immunity to the given allergens. When the allergen extract is administered in a series of increasing amounts the process is referred to as allergy therapy, immunotherapy or desensitization. (NCI Thesaurus)
