    Amidophosphoribosyltransferase Inhibitor

    Any substance that inhibits amidophosphoribosyltransferase, an enzyme that catalyzes the commiting step on de novo purine synthesis. Inhibition of amidophosphoribosyltransferase inhibits DNA synthesis and results in cell cycle arrest. (NCI Thesaurus)
