    BAP1 wt Allele

    Human BAP1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 9q22.31 and is approximately 148 kb in length. This allele, which encodes ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase BAP1 protein, plays a role in tumor suppression. Homozygous BAP1 intragenic rearrangements and allelic deletions occur in lung carcinoma. (NCI Thesaurus)
