    Bordetella bronchiseptica

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram-negative, coccobacilli shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile and urease positive in MIU culture media, oxidase, catalase, and citrate positive, indole negative, does not produce hydrogen sulfide and sodium citrate is its only carbon source B. bronchispetica is found in the respiratory tract of domestic and wild animals where it is pathogenic, but rarely is found in humans.
