    Bridging Integrator 1

Encoded as ten alternate splicing variant isoforms by human BIN1 Gene, ubiquitously expressed nucleocytoplasmic adaptor protein Bridging Integrator 1 exhibits differential binding to dynamin, synaptojanin (via sh3 domain), alpha-adaptin, endophilin, clathrin, and MYC protein. BIN1 interacts with the MYC N-transactivation domain in a manner requiring the conserved MYC box regions 1 and 2. Some isoforms may play a role in protein targeting during synaptic vesicle endocytosis. BIN1 contains a BAR domain and an SH3 domain and may be phosphorylated by protein kinase C. (NCI Thesaurus)
