    CARS wt Allele

    Human CARS wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 11p15.5 and is approximately 57 kb in length. This allele, which encodes cysteinyl-tRNA synthetase, cytoplasmic protein, plays a role in the metabolism of tRNA. A translocation t(2;11)(p23;p15) of this gene and the ALK gene is associated with inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors. (NCI Thesaurus)
