    CETP wt Allele

Human CETP wild-type allele is located within 16q21 and is approximately 22 kb in length. This allele, which encodes cholesteryl ester transfer protein, is involved in the regulation of cholesteryl ester transfer, which is critical to the processes of cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis. Aberrations in the gene may affect atherosclerosis susceptibility. (NCI Thesaurus)
