    Chondroblast

    A cartilage-forming cell derived from a mesenchymal cell. The chondroblast secretes hyaluronidase, chondroitin sulfates, and collagen II to form a collagen matrix. It differentiates into a chondrocyte. (NCI Thesaurus)
