    Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride

    The hydrochloride salt form of ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone related to nalidixic acid with antibacterial activity. Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride exerts its bactericidal effect by interfering with the bacterial DNA gyrase, thereby inhibiting the DNA synthesis and preventing bacterial cell growth. (NCI Thesaurus)
