A drug used with other drugs to treat colorectal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer that have spread to other parts of the body. It is used alone or with another drug to treat cancer of the stomach or gastroesophageal junction (area where the esophagus connects to the stomach) that is advanced or has spread to other parts of the body. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Cyramza binds to receptors for a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which may be found on some types of cancer cells. This may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Cyramza is a type of antiangiogenesis agent and a type of monoclonal antibody. Also called anti-VEGFR-2 fully human monoclonal antibody IMC-1121B, IMC-1121B, and ramucirumab. (NCI Dictionary)
