    Cytochrome P450 3A4 Inducer

Any substance that induces the activity of the liver enzyme cytochrome P450 3A4. By inducing the activity of the CYP3A4 enzyme, the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates is increased, which leads to decreased bioavailability, plasma concentrations and reduced efficacy of these substrates.
