    Exiguobacterium acetylicum

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram positive, rod shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This species is catalase and oxidase positive, has yellow pigmented colonies, is indole negative, does not reduce nitrate and does not produce H2S. E. acetylicum has been isolated from skin, wounds, and cerebrospinal fluid and has also been reported in hospital acquired catheter related bacteremia. (NCI Thesaurus)
