    EZH2 wt Allele

Human EZH2 wild-type allele is located within 7q35-q36 and is approximately 77 kb in length. This allele, which encodes enhancer of zeste homolog 2 protein, plays a role in the repression of gene transcription and regulation of chromatin structure. Overexpression of the EZH2 gene is associated with the progression of certain types of cancer such as bladder carcinomas and prostate cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
