    A computer program that uses personal and family medical history information to estimate a woman’s chance of developing breast cancer. Also called Gail model. (NCI Dictionary)

    Definition 2

    A computer program developed through the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel project. Estimates risk of breast cancer based upon current age, age at menarche, age at first live birth, number of first-degree relatives who have had breast cancer, number of breast biopsies, and number of biopsies with atypical hyperplasia. Results are presented as risk of breast cancer, as a percentage, within the next five years or over a lifetime. (NCI Thesaurus)
