    Glycophorin

    A family of sialoglycoproteins that are found in erythrocytes. Members of this family are transmembrane proteins and are able to interact with both oligosaccharides on the extracellular surface and the cytoplasmic contractile proteins spectrin and actin. (NCI Thesaurus)
