    HDAC3 wt Allele

Human HDAC3 wild-type allele is located within 5q31 and is approximately 16 kb in length. This allele, which encodes histone deacetylase 3 protein, plays a role in the both the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal region of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4) and the binding of transcription factor YY1. Deregulation of HDAC3 gene expression is associated with colon cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
