    Henipavirus

    Definition 1

    A genus of enveloped, pleomorphically spherical viruses in the family Paramyxoviridae. The genome is composed of a linear single-strand of negative sense RNA. The Henipavirus natural reservoir is considered to be fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family and cause influenza-like illness in humans. (NCI Thesaurus)
