    HERPUD1 wt Allele

Human HERPUD1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 16q13 and is approximately 12 kb in length. This allele, which encodes homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 1 protein, plays a role in the unfolded protein response. A translocation of this gene and the ERG gene is associated with rare cases of prostate cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
