    Intraperitoneal Route of Administration

    Intraperitoneal drug administration is a method of drug delivery via injection or infusion of a substance into the peritoneum, where it is absorbed by the lining. The substance is subject to first pass through the liver. Intraperitoneal administration is one of the most frequently-used parenteral routes in rodents. (NCI Thesaurus)
