    Administration of drugs directly into spinal subarachnoid space in the cerebrospinal fluid, at any level of the cerebrospinal axis, including injection into the cerebral ventricles, in order to bypass the blood-brain barrier and achieve local, rapid effects on the meninges or cerebrospinal axis.
