    Iodinated I-131 Serum Albumin

A synthetic radiopharmaceutical in which human serum albumin (HSA) is radiolabelled with iodine 131. Upon intravenous injection, iodine-131 human serum albumin is slowly deiodinated in vivo, releasing radioactive iodide that is taken up by thyroid gland. Iodine-131 primarily emits beta particles and has a half-life of 8 days. (NCI Thesaurus)
