    Lactate Dehydrogenase Isoenzyme 5

    A protein complex that is comprised of a homotetramer of the L-lactate dehydrogenase A chain which is encoded by the human LDHA gene. This enzyme complex is involved in the last step of anaerobic glycolysis and is expressed in the liver and in skeletal muscle. (NCI Thesaurus)
