    LATS1 wt Allele

Human LATS1 wild-type allele is located within 6q24-q25.1 and is approximately 108 kb in length. This allele, which encodes serine/threonine-protein kinase LATS1 protein, plays a role in cell cycle regulation and cytokinesis. Down-regulation of LATS1 gene expression by promoter hypermethylation is associated with an aggressive phenotype in breast cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
