    LLGL1 wt Allele

Human LLGL1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 17p11.2 and is approximately 19 kb in length. This allele, which encodes lethal(2) giant larvae protein homolog 1 protein, plays a role in the regulation of mitotic spindle orientation, cell proliferation, neuroepithelial cell differentiation, tumor suppression and cytoskeletal maintenance. Aberrant expression of the gene is associated with the progression of both colorectal cancers and melanoma. (NCI Thesaurus)
