    LYN wt Allele

Human LYN wild-type allele is located within 8q13 and is approximately 132 kb in length. This allele, which encodes tyrosine-protein kinase Lyn protein, plays a role in B-cell receptor signaling, Fc epsilon receptor I signaling and glycoprotein VI-mediated platelet activation. Decreased expression of the LYN gene is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus. (NCI Thesaurus)
