    MLLT11 wt Allele

Human MLLT11 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1q21 and is approximately 11 kb in length. This allele, which encodes protein AF1q, plays a role in both depolarization of and release of cytochrome c by the mitochondrion. The gene is involved in a translocation t(1;11)(q21;q23) with the MLL gene that is associated with acute leukemia. (NCI Thesaurus)
