    Monoclonal Antibody HD37-SMPT-dgA Immunotoxin

An immunotoxin consisting of the murine anti-CD19 monoclonal antibody HD37 conjugated to a deglycosylated ricin A chain (dgA) via the linking molecule N-succinimidyl-oxycarbonyl-alpha-methyl-alpha-(2-pyridyldithio) toluene (SMPT). The HD37 component binds to CD19, a B-cell restricted antigen, thereby targeting the delivery of the cytotoxic ricin A chain to B-cells. The ricin A chain component binds to B-cells and disrupts ribosomal activity and protein synthesis and induces cell cycle arrest. (NCI Thesaurus)
