    Definition 1

    Any of various amplification and detection strategies applied to detection of virus contamination in donor blood. Specifically designed to detect recently infected individuals during the latency period before seroconversion. (NCI Thesaurus)

    Any of a number of molecular biological techniques that are used to copy nucleic acid sequences within a specimen, leading to an increase in the number of copies of that sequence of interest.
