    NUDT1 wt Allele

Human NUDT1 wild-type allele is located within 7p22 and is approximately 9 kb in length. This allele, which encodes 7,8-dihydro-8-oxoguanine triphosphatase protein, is involved in the hydrolysis of 8-oxo-dGTP in the free nucleotide pool. Overexpression of the NUDT1 gene is associated with several types of cancer such as non-small-cell lung carcinomas, renal cell carcinomas and prostate cancer. (NCI Thesaurus)
