    Secondary Glioblastoma

    A glioblastoma arising from a lower grade astrocytoma. It is more commonly seen in younger patients and is associated with specific molecular abnormalities including TP53 gene mutation, platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRalpha) gene amplification, and loss of heterozygosity for 19q. -- 2004 (NCI Thesaurus)
