    Sodium Acetate

    The trihydrate sodium salt of acetic acid with alkalinizing, diuretic and electrolyte replacement properties. Following absorption, sodium acetate generates sodium bicarbonate, thereby raising blood and urine pH. In addition, this agent may increase serum sodium concentration. (NCI Thesaurus)
