    Sulfathiazole

    A short-acting sulfonamide antibiotic. Its use has been largely replaced with less toxic alternatives but is still used in combination with sulfacetamide and sulfabenzamide for the treatment of vaginal infections and for disinfecting home aquariums. (NCI Thesaurus)
