    Cytochrome P450 3A4 Inhibitor

Any substance that inhibits the activity of the liver enzyme cytochrome P450 3A4. By inhibiting the activity of the CYP3A4 enzyme, the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates is reduced, which leads to both increased bioavailability and plasma concentrations of these substrates. (NCI Thesaurus)
