    HDAC6 wt Allele

Human HDAC6 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of Xp11.23 and is approximately 23 kb in length. This allele, which encodes histone deacetylase 6 protein, is involved in the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal region of the core histones H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. It also plays a role in the deacetylation of tubulin. (NCI Thesaurus)
