    HTR1A wt Allele

    Human HTR1A wild-type allele is located within 5q11.2-q13 and is approximately 2 kb in length. This allele, which encodes 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A protein, plays a role in both neurotransmitter binding and G protein-coupled receptor signaling. Mutation of the gene is associated with menstrual cycle-dependent periodic fevers. (NCI Thesaurus)
