    Intrapulmonary Route of Administration

    Definition 1

    Administration of a substance in the form gas, aerosol, emulsion, or liquid (during partial and tidal liquid ventilation), or fine powder into the lung, often with systemic action. Method limitations: insufficient drug delivery to peripheral lung regions, the inability to quantify the actually administered dose, and non-homogeneous distribution. (NCI Thesaurus)
