    L-779450

A synthetic triarylimidazole with potential antineoplastic activity. As a Raf kinase inhibitor, L-779450 competes with ATP for binding to the Raf-1 and A-Raf catalytic sites, thus inhibiting their enzymatic activities and blocking various signal transduction pathways that depend on Raf-1 kinase (particularly the Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK cascade which is often up-regulated in neoplasms).
