    Lapuleucel-T

A cell-based vaccine targets tumors expressing the HER2/neu marker. HER-2/neu is a growth factor receptor, and its overexpression has been associated with a number of cancers including breast, ovarian, colon and lung cancers. APC8024 comprise of autologous antigen-presenting peripheral blood mononuclear cells (APCs) that have been exposed to HER2/neu protein and can be administered to the patient. These cells may stimulate an antitumor T-cell response to cancer cells expressing HER2/neu. (NCI Thesaurus)
