    Mavrilimumab

A human IgG4 monoclonal antibody targeting the alpha chain of the granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor receptor (GM-CSF-Ra), with potential immunomodulating activity. Mavrilimumab binds to GM-CSF-Ra and inhibits the GM-CSF-mediated pathway. This may inhibit inflammation. GM-CSF and its receptor are upregulated in a number of autoimmune diseases and play a key role in the activation, differentiation and function of both granulocytes and monocytes. (NCI Thesaurus)
