    Pasteurella bettyae

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic and facultatively anaerobic, Gram-negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non-spore forming, not beta-hemolytic, oxidase, urease, ornithine decarboxylase, and indole negative, phosphatase positive, reduces nitrate, does not hydrolyze esculin or acidify galactose, and slowly and weakly ferments carbohydrates. P. bettyae was isolated from human Bartholin gland abscesses and finger infections. (NCI Thesaurus)
