    RUNX1 wt Allele

Human RUNX1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 21q22.3 and is approximately 262 kb in length. This allele, which encodes Runt-related transcription factor 1 protein, is involved in both the modulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II and in hematopoiesis. Chronic myelogenous leukemia with or without blastic crisis, acute non-lymphocytic leukemia, T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia, and myelodysplastic syndrome are all associated with complex chromosomal rearrangements of this gene.
