    Tissue-type plasminogen activator (562 aa, ~63 kDa) is encoded by the human PLAT gene. This protein plays a role in the cleavage of plasminogen between Arg-580 and Val-581 to form the fibrinolytic enzyme plasmin. (NCI Thesaurus)
